Any surprises with events or how your team did in events or how other teams did?

It turned out we had a massive communal misinterpretation of the Robot Arm rules so our robot went exactly as planned, our plan just didn't get us a single point. Thus 56th, and we thought it was going to do alright....

Re: 2012 National Tournament: University of Central Florida
A lot of us event supervisors got up at 4AM and drove over to Titusville to try to watch the launch. It was cool, but disappointing... then we came back, had breakfast and went to setup our events (except me, I got to sleep some more since scoring doesn't start till the afternoon;)LoopQuantumGravity wrote:Unfortunately, it was canceled just before the launch because of an engine issue.andrewwski wrote:SpaceX has now set the target date for the Falcon 9 launch to May 19.
That will be during nationals. It's at 4:55 a.m.
You'll want to wake up for it. Just step out of your hotel and look east - night launches are spectacular to watch even from Orlando.
Some of the people on my team got up to watch it, and we found out about the failure when one of us looked online. I also saw another team walking back inside two minutes later.

We scored entirely bonus points by putting a shelf on top of the jug and then putting all of the objects on that. So none of those counted since they we're in the jug or something.
