yeah I'm going to change the rules to anything in the range of 15 years before to the current.

Rocks, Minerals, and Fossils?

How about from 1996 to the present, since that's how far back I've gone on Comprehensive Event Listing Wiki?

Give us 3 more guesses, and then reveal it. The only way for someone to find out the event would be to go onto soinc.org and look at each previous event, which is work, albeit easy, but games shouldn't require work. In the future, don't make any of them obnoxious.
