I like this event. I got 3rd in it at the Earstern Long Island Regional. (NY)

You don't necessarily have to like the event the be able to compete in it. It just helps because its easier to study something you like but yeah you know what I mean. I mean when I first got this event I wasn't too happy about it but when I actually studied it wasn't that bad of an event so you never know I guess.

I agree. Btw is snell's law the only real equation we have to know, cause this really smart 8th grader was trying to explain Young's equation and i got confused.

I'm not sure, if the rules don't specify then it would probably be better to know them both but I'm not completely sure... :?

Yeah. Only Snell's law was on our regional, but i dunno about states. I've never been to a state tourney anyway

Yeah, I think they're unlikely to get any more complicated than Snell's Law (I mean, not that Snell's Law is that complicated, but mathematically speaking, that's probably the farthest they'll go)- but if they do anywhere, it'll probably be at NY States *groan*... where some of the events are harder than Nationals.

Also you should know basic equations like speed=wavelength*frequency and stuff like that.
