Well, they're probably preparing way before their state competition in anticipation.

Well, it's not just preparation for the competition; there's virtually no time to prepare transportation and logistics-wise. We had our state tournament in early March and still haven't figured out payment, alternates, all that jazz. If they're flying to nationals, tickets will be hella expensive, and the best deals on local hotels will likely be taken.

Interesting...in Ohio, what we do is a coach will pre-purchase the hotel and transportation for all four teams, and then just transfer the costs to the teams that make it.

^That's definitely a better, more organized system. Though, different teams in MN have different preferences as to lodging, transportation, etc. For example, Mounds View has stayed in the dorms every time they've gone to nationals, while Eastview has stayed in a hotel every time they've gone to nationals. Eastview has used cars/shuttles to transport stuff on at least 2 occasions; Mounds View has never used cars to transport stuff to or at nationals.

Again, with the meet-up concept, we will all be wearing tags with our Scioly usernames on them (hopefully, I will bring NEOawesomeness, tvmoggie33, Anish bhagwat, and a few others) at 3:15 in the IM gym?
Is anyone going to confirm this idea I am receiving?

Yea I believed we've established that, but you may not have been there. But, yes we are going to wear scioly username tags and also verify you're from scioly.

Because several people have been posting top 10 predictions for states, especially in B, I compiled them all into a set of rankings. They're scored kind of like NCAA polls are: a 1st place vote gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9, etc.

For Division B, the voters were me, 49ers, havenguy, ckssv07, isaysroar, and mp727.

1. Strath Haven (59 points [5 first place votes])
2. Shady Side (54 [1])
3. Welsh Valley (44)
4. Allen (37)
5. Bala Cynwyd (33)
6. Park Forest (28)
7. Abington Heights (25)
8. Whitehall Coplay (22)
9. J.T. Lambert (20)
10. Springton Lake (3)
Also receiving votes: Springhouse (2), Wyoming Area (2), Hershey (1)

As you can see, there is a definite gap between 9th and 10th here.

The voters for Division C were me and 49ers.

1. Harriton (20 [2])
2. Penncrest (18)
3. Bayard Rustin (16)
4. Conestoga (14)
5. Athens (12)
6T. Lower Merion (9)
6T. Strath Haven (9)
8. Haverford (6)
9. Kutztown (3)
10. Perkiomen Valley (2)
Also receiving votes: East Stroudsburg South (1)

If anyone else wants to join in, just post your top 10, and then I'll compile any new ones into the rankings on Thursday night! :)
