In addition, for part one (my weakest part) how many questions do you think will be allotted for each subject? Lastly, do you think they'll have REAL PRESERVED Macroinvertebrates that we'll have to see with a microscope? If so, do you know where I can buy some to practice?
THANK YOU! I really want to do well

Erm. If they do have real macros, I doubt that they will have you guys looking through microscopes because the macros can be visible with just your eyes. Also, I think the best way you could possibly practice is just take a bunch of different tests. Also, if they have them out, try to find a Nationals test from like last year or something. Good luck!

I would expect them to do so. So far, I haven't seen a test that doesn't give you the charts.

I haven't even had a test that needed those graphs. *facepalm* But yeah, I've had practice tests that have given them, so I'd imagine that they wouldn't make you memorize everything for nationals.

Did anyone find the nationals test difficult? We got 7th, but were sure we failed it afterwards. Our salinometer didn't even work, we couldn't use one page of our notes because we stapled our pages together and one had writing on the back, and all I knew was the Invertabrates, and only barely. We blanked out on some easy acronyms like BMP and got lucky on SAV. Yet, despite all this we almost medaled. That said, good job to everyone who competed!!(Espcially the top 6) That was my first competition and it was awesome. Water quality is a fun event!!!

What did SAV stand for anyways?
I found the test had many questions that were similar to those from last year.

Same, we found the test similar to last year. After looking it up, I think it stands for submerged aquatic vegetation. We didn't know what any of the acronyms were or the tools, but we finished in 2nd. We thought we did okay on it afterwards.

Nice job on second!!!! I had never done a challenging stations test, and was shocked at how fast we had to work. no time to even think or check your notes!! That said, it would have been a hard test regardlass of the format.
