Some people say you can cut them from the ink tubes of certain ballpoint pens.

O-rings are for wimps, get some baby powder and wrestle that rubber onto the hook. Im being totally serious, o-rings are unnecessary mass.

I would tend to agree with you, except how my team works we only send 1 builder to state (im going, just not flying I'm watching and judging silently ) so another guy has to do it. So im trying to make it as easy as possible for him to do
