I'm a decent builder, one of the better ones on my team. Generally I think that building events aren't really as much how great your skills are to your design. If you have a lousy design, no matter how well your skills are, your final result is going to be lousy. I'm pretty sure everyone can glue two pieces of wood or drill a hole, etc. Though for balsa building events it's a little different, you need a a consistent, good building skill to do well. So anyone can be good at a building event if they're willing to put some research in to get the best design possible.Jocool wrote:i like and am good at them too, just i like the tech's and am get at them also.zyzzyva98 wrote:I actually prefer study events... there's no possible malfunctions to take away a medal from an undeserving team. Plus, I do really well at study events.
I do both study+building, though I seem to like building better because of some competition things. Although the judges in building events may be terrible, they will most likely change their policy if you show them in the rules what's wrong. However, the supervisors for the testing events already made their tests up and are not going to change for you.
