Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
we were tested by pictures of certain types of volcanoes, and then given a general area (for instance, close to the Mediterranean Sea, the volcano was described as "the Lighthouse of the Mediterranean) and you also have to guess what kind of eruptions come from it

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
Also, in the state, the test asked a lot of questions on the Hawaiian Islands and sea floor spreading occurring on the Hawaiian Islands. That is a good topic to research.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
At States, I also had to draw a picture of the ocean floor with all the magneticized stripe thingys...
it wasn't picasso, but i got the idea...

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
The Earth's magnetic structure and magnetic reversals in the ocean has always confused me. The cause of polar reversals have never been explained by scientists.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
Well the cause is obviously because of crystal skulls and the 2012 Mayan conspiracy...
well actually its because of something with the core and it freaking out basically. I think at least.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
It is the outer core spinning around the inner core (I believe) that generates the earth's magnetic field. I don't know what causes polar reversals...

You're not alone. NO ONE knows what causes polar reversals, not even experts in the field.smarticle13 wrote:It is the outer core spinning around the inner core (I believe) that generates the earth's magnetic field. I don't know what causes polar reversals...

Maybe something like this?swimmmm wrote:lmaoooo how are we supposed to draw it then??gneissisnice wrote:You're not alone. Just to show that the seafloor spreading is creating the stripes of different magnetic direction.
