One of my proudest moments was my freshman year (wow, was it that long ago?) when I got second in WIDI at state. I ran so fast up to the stage that I nearly tripped and fell, because I really didn't expect to do that well. I think the thing that keeps this from being my actual Proudest Moment is that I know exactly what I messed up that kept us from getting first.... but second is good too.

I think my proudest moment overall though was placing first in Designer Genes this year at regionals this year. I'd been prepping for the event pretty religiously, since I had gotten carried pretty hard last year and the exam at regionals was really difficult. Since this is something that I'm really passionate about, I wanted to be sure that if I did it again, I did well. The same proctor ran the event again this year, and while the test wasn't the same it was still really hard and I wasn't sure we were going to do that well (especially since we were one of the last teams out of the room). I was really nervous as they read off the teams that placed, especially around third place because I hadn't been called yet and I really had pretty low confidence about the event. However, before they even finished reading our team name for first place I had sprinted across the auditorium for my award. It was such a proud moment for me because it had meant that all my studying had paid off, and I was really glad that I could take home a first place medal for that.

That little victory also got me super pumped up for states. Oh, how the turns have tabled.

Proudest moment was by far getting Fourth in Gravity Vehicle. I mean it's not great by all means but it made me pretty proud to see that my work paid off, I was only 7cm away to be fair, and the competition in my region is ridiculous.
