It's a risk for the sassy, but sometimes they can make an easy clue to ensure that they will be saved - or secretly work with an officer or two. Most sassies don't bother to gamble like that, but it's certainly possible for a sassy to self-target.

Not a big Naruto fan here, but aren't the akatsuki like roamers too? They go around killing them guys with tails.
