I have my partner run the MagLev without me.
The heck.... Do you know how he did?
Medaled in eight of them.

It would be interesting to graph team results in X invitational vs. nationals for various tournaments. Has anyone done this before?

If this has/will be done, it would be interesting to see MIT vs. Nats. :D

I think Science Olympiad is great at prepping kids for higher education, the other day on my math final I knew that I didn't need to get 100%, but if I did well enough and beat enough other people the rest would work itself out.

I can't believe I let my watch get nearly 1.5 minutes ahead... I used to always try to keep it within a few seconds of time.gov...

Yep, I noticed this as well. Even early on I was able to adapt to paying more attention not to the number grade itself, but how it compared to the class average. So when I eventually got to Thermo (our weed-out class; every engineering department has one) I wasn't as freaked out about trying to get a high number grade, and instead focused on just understanding the material better than most people would, and it turned out that I did better than I maybe would have if I was focused on getting everything right to start out with.

There will be 51 teams at the NC state (division C) tournament this year — does that make it the biggest state tournament in the country?

Nope, NY C has 55 and MI has 60 in each division (the latter of which I believe is the standing record).
