Um... I don't know much [read: anything] about the non-passerine birds, but I'd think it's either a herring gull or california gull...

It is hard to tell with the angle... Is it a northern fulmar?

Yup that's correct! this picture doesn't really show it, but I think they look rather plump all the time, haha

@Chia: The northern fulmar and pink-footed shearwaters have the tubed-nose. The gulls do not, but have the white tipped beak. The herring looks "meaner" and has pink feet, while the California has golden feet and looks "nicer". Haha those terms are subjective I guess.
