Sounds of Music sounds kind of pointless. What are all of the other new B events about

i would have to disagree a bit with that yea it has a less known was of scoring but it still allows for a learning experience (physics of sound) and a brand new building style instead of cars and what not it allows for the creation of an instrument which is more towards looks and time than speed and improvisation

It isn't totally pointless because it focuses on the physics of sound as part of the test of the event

Sounds of Music would be a fun event just to hang around to see what the instruments people have built look like.

I'm kind of psyched to see what people make for SoM. I'm not going to be doing the event myself, but there are a ton of band geeks on my team, so I know they'll come up with something crazy but good. Seeing what other schools make will be really cool, too. I think that it's kind of neat to have an event like this where people can be more artsy and creative.

I'll probably do SoM next year. I'm going to try to build a violin out of balsa wood. Hopefully it won't take too long.

at least i already know how to play/read music so at least half the battle is done...
