OK, u wanna get coins? Its not too hard. all u do is ram 'em against the wall with a scoop or something thats perfectly flush with da ground. And seperating the legos? its just a driver issue practice more

the robot that we took to invatationals not to give away the last years gold medal design was pretty good for something that took 4 hours to build.
it was a vexplorer claw on our custom chassis. the claw had a wrist, and it dumped into a tray on the arm that supported the claw. the tray tapered off to the size of the goal so that nothing would come out during dumping.
we could get everything but the coins and separating the legos in 3 mins. at the actual competition, however, we tipped the goal over and everything fell out. driver error. i let my partner have the main role so he would have experience if i couldnt participate for any reason. he crumpled under pressure, and instead of picking the goal back up he flung items everywhere in frustration
ill try to get pictures.

My Science Olympiad team is using a vexplorer robot for the competition. We have been getting interference using the robot. The robot moves without moving the controller. Has anyone experienced this? We are using the standard kit.
Thanks

After moving the robot with the controller and stopping. It will continue to go without any movement of the controller. It will not stop when the controller is not working. It also will not necessarily go in the direction you have moved it with the controller.

That can happen with cell phone interference. Try turning off cell phones, cameras etc.
