To be honest, probably my proudest moment was when I got third in A&P at an invitational without my partner. He had to do Battery Buggy at the same time, so I took it by myself. Honestly I felt under prepared, but it was nice to get third.

Then I got 2nd at states
connecticut is a really small place and you start at states because there aren't enough teams for regionals

If you think CT is small, you should come to Idaho. We had seven Division C teams at state last season.

Placing second at state my first year (even though I almost tripped on the stairs on the way up to the stage)

Lol. Very relatable. The same thing happened to me but I was still in shock.

I have two!
7th grade during my first year competing in SO winning Game On. Also (finally!) winning WIDI last year at state after consistently losing at invites

Probably when, during my first ever competition, I got 1st in water quality and 2nd in crime busters! It was only an invitational but I was really happy.

There are too many that its hard to choose.

I could pick that time I medaled at nats or states

But I think I was most proud during the Cornell Invite of 2018

You see, me and my partner weren't the best at rollercoaster. I believe we placed 66th in the invitational prior (Centerville) which was probably the reason we were 7th and not a higher rank overall. Me and my partner were in the dumps. After that humilating weekend, we got to work. We tore down the old design and started from scratch. We spent countless hours leading up to the competition building a device that was very inconsistent and had a 50/50 chance of working.

When we got to the event site, we were nervous as pigeon, but somehow, our timing was good enough that we got 1st overall in that event. The redemption arc was complete.

(sorry if this sounds a bit dramatic)

For me, it was either my team making it to nationals for the first time last year, or medaling in Ecology at states in my first year of Division B when my partner had to stop SO right before states.

My proudest moment in Science Olympiad so far was in sixth grade, where I had my Thermo partner quit plus having the flu AND strep throat on the day of regionals, and still placing second. The best part was that my coach was handing out second place medals, and she proudly put both on me. That was the only time ever where I experienced the sound of clinking medals.

I’m sO pRoUd that my average at an invie (that was basically just states based on the teams competing) was better than my average at regionals...
I blame the fact that the events I failed in were weird and no top teams placed (ahem, WIDI, ahem...)
