Thank you Jeff and chalker, the information posted in this thread is really useful to me and probably many other people. Thank you for sharing your insights! I'm really excited for starting to build new helical rotors.

So as my state competition is saturday, I want to know exactly how bad I'm going to fail.. So what times are you guys getting?
(and I mean that sarcastically, I think I'll do alright.)

I tested at Armory today and i got 1:58 with around 1050 winds. I strengthened my rotor joint today though so i think i can break two minutes.

interesting. well the first time im pushing my rubber alot is going to be on friday/saturday testing. I havent pushed it to good times yet b/c until now ive been trying to find the best rubber.

Hmm make sure u have multiple coptors Mr. Steven. When i first tested with 1200 winds, i broke the rotors because of the immense torque. Don't want that to happen right before competition so have a back-up ready just in case.

You can get up to 1200 winds?
At competition I was being a wimp and only pushing it to 900. What sucks is that I definitely could have gotten more, and we were second place by only like 5 seconds. If I had 1200 winds I would have kicked their butterfly for sure...

Heh. My record: 200 winds. :|Then it snapped in my face at Regionals. Fail I know.
