Ah... no, a
Purple Finch is quite different. Plus, the buntings are in the Cardinal family.

Is that an Anhinga? I say that because of the white markings on the wings and the neck curve. It could also be the Double-Crested Cormorant, but the white feathers suggest the Anhinga. Tricky hiding of the head though, haha
