I always carry a ziploc bag with some lubricant in it, so I can drop the rubber in it and rub it around right before I fly at competition. however at home, I usually just leave them soaking in a ziploc bag.

I usually use sil slick, but if not available, armor all. Don't forget to take some paper towels! we always keep some in the toolbox to wipe motors, winders, and winders, so our grip doesn't slip and break the helicopter.

Well, the paper towels are mostly to wipe our hands (not the rubber... that would defeat the purpose). kjhsscioly is the one with the sil-slick - I use armor-all. I usually put my motors in a bag of it the day that I'm going to use them or right before use, but not usually earlier.

rubber doesn't exactly need to marinate in lube to get the full effect, so I don't lube my motors until I use them.

How often do you use the average motor? I have heard from some places that fresh motors every time are best, and from other places that motors used a few times get the best winds. Any suggestions?

^^ I dont mean to ignore kjshscioly's question but im going to pose my own in addition

I got rubber from a2z corp and not only is the length of rubber incorrect but the rubber width itself is wrong. has anyone had a similar experience? do you think I can get my rubber before state? (for me, april 16)

I compete with fresh rubber, otherwise use it only 3 times. When ur winding right before the breaking point each time, the rubber loses its capability to store as much energy the more times you use it.

true, but in my experience the 3rd time I use rubber i can get more winds out of it. So its a give and take

I myself never use the same rubber more than thrice, whether testing or at competition (and at competition, fresh or once-used rubber). I haven't found any particular increase in possible winds with rubber I've used more.

Ouch, for real? I don't think I've ever gotten rubber from them, but when I buy supplies (for ex. teflon washers) in specific quantities, I always get what I ordered. You said they took a really long time to deliver, right? Which is weird since you're in Illinois... have you called them or emailed or anything?

well no, the delievry thing was freedomflights (and it got worked out, somehow our order was 'misplaced' so he sent it and it got to me in a day)
a2z corps im hoping to have a similar experience but idk.. if the width is wrong this time, why would it be right next one? its not like they mixed it up with another, the measurement they cut is off. (e.i. what I asked for was .05 off)
but im optimistic ^.^ my luck of the late isnt fantastic

edit: yes i emailed him and im really hoping it can get corrected and fixed before state..
