Can anyone answer this question?
How many USGS operated Streamgages are there in the USA and US Territories?
It was on our regional test and weve been looking for the answer ever since we cannot find it.

Ours was on floods-specifically the Great Flood of 1993

for the number of steamgages, i got 7500, an estimate from this link http://water.usgs.gov/nsip/

we found a lot of estimates, but they varried and were all form like 2004 or earlier. The issue is also the territories part, if we found a Us a=estimate and added the territories then mabye we would hae something

I thought they varied from earlier than 2004.......oh well
