i think there r more math competitions than science competitions... LOLGlacierguy1 wrote:There is a math olympiad, just not in the sense that Science Olympiad is.
not necessarily. physics is essentially applied mathematics, and engineering is applied physics. but physics actually uses more trigonometry than any other math (although they use all of them a lot). i know this because my dad is a physisist and my brother is going into phisics and i myself am interested in physics (although i think i like asronomy more).binary010101 wrote:Physics is applied calculus.2win wrote:Yes, that's what I said. I know, but I doubt that people would want to do 2+2 for Science Olympiad.fleet130 wrote:Mathematics IS a science, isn't it?It seems too math oriented, not enough science.
I did this event in 2006 Nationals.carpenoctem63141 wrote:This was a trial event at nationals I think 3 or 4 years ago.
Yes i know, I did it in 6th grade---It would be good for a "Math Olympiad" that was done in the same way as SOdvd wrote:Math Olympiad's really different though. And I guess Math kind of is science. So in that sense, this sounds like a good event.
