Tectonics is a brand-new topic, so that's why there are no tests. Earthquakes and Volcanoes is a different topic, but it definitely helps to know the basics of that info, since event supervisors will probably use some of the info this year. The Captains Tryouts tests will probably be posted in January, so you'll get one Tectonics test then.
Thanks for heads up!

Do you guys have any good free online textbooks that I could read for tectonics?

So there were some conflicts for invites and I ended up volunteering to do Dynamic Planet. Anyone have any tips?

In general, Dynamic Planet tends to follow the rules pretty well. Just go through the rules and research everything that you can find on there, and that should be a really solid starting point for the event.

Hi! (Let's revive this forum lol).
Bc this year Dynamic has a new topic it's been kinda awkward slash annoying trying to figure out what to study and what's gonna be on the tests. My school's been to 2 invitationals so far and I feel like I've studied basically everything I can find on the internet lol. (*side note* if anyone's looking for resources, tulane's Earth & Environmental Sciences 1110 Physical Geology course has alotalot of information).
Any recommendations for textbooks to read that might be helpful? thanks in advance

This is one that I've been using:

It's kind of a hard read though lol (but i guess no textbook about tectonics would be particularly exciting...)

Would you also consider Vine, Matthews, and Morley for contributing as well?

I haven't used it much yet but I just got the Plate Tectonics: Continental Drift and Mountain Building textbook by Wolfgang Frisch, Martin Meschede, and Ronald C. Blakey.
