So a resource for Game On could be like a guide on how to make a decent game?

Yeah, just make sure it's quality. Might also be a good idea to have information on some of the basics of scratch.

In the rules for Astronomy in 2012, when the theme was the same as in 2017, there are Mira Variables and RR Lyrae variables and their respective prototypes as DSOs. Is it okay to include these if I'm making an Astro test, even though the theme isn't variable stars?

First, my slightly troll answer: Does it make sense under the umbrella of Type Ia SNe?

Now the more direct answer: Sure! If I were judging a test and you put those on, doing VERY common prototypes as I said would be a good idea regardless (one can't be too harsh with the DSO list unless MOST DSOs was way too random or don't make any sense). The one issue is there might be a lot of overlap in test submissions then, but I'm sure that can be worked out because those sorts of objects are famous with tons of info about them. I'd take issue if you were just looking up random famous stars and say picked Delta Cephei, which would make absolutely no sense if you know about what that star is. Hope that makes sense, if you put variable stars on just remember that the main topic is really about stellar evolution, though.

Note that even if variable stars aren't the main topic, any topic on stars (including the past two years about exoplanets/star formation) WILL involve variable stars. T Tauri? Eruptive variable. Transiting planets? Extrinsic, an eclipsing binary. One last point is what about SNe? Why they're variable stars too! They are cataclysmic of course. It should make sense variable stars come up all the time too because stars are quite dynamic in nature for many many reasons when we observe them (this is actually why I found variable stars to be pretty cool in scioly, because just staring at any old star or explosion for a while gives us a massive amount of info).

Hi! I'm planning on submitting a very in-depth bottle rockets guide. I'm wondering if I have to have diagrams because you said build guides need them. My guide will easily be over 8000 words as I have 7 chapters and I have 2000+ words and I only just started chapter 2. I do have some pictures. The guide will encompass as bottle rocket topics from the science to the building to the testing.
Bottle Rockets: 5th
Ecology: 9th
Hovercraft: 14th
Scrambler: 29th (with a failed run too ;))
Mousetrap Vehicle
Hovercraft
Ecology
Experimental Design (or other inquiry :P)

...Yes, my profile picture is G2 apEX at the PGL Major Qual.

I want you all to remember this: The guidelines are there to guide you to make a high quality resource. GUIDE you. If the guide is as high quality as I am thinking it will be, diagrams will be up to you. Make your notes and guide the way you want to, and if it's not within standards, we'll email you back with suggestions.
I look forward to seeing your guide!

Can submissions be sent beginning June 1st? Is there a certain due date for these submissions or are you permitted to submit your resources at any time and, if accepted, gain access to SSSS?

When will we be notified about whether we are accepted as evaluators to the SSSS admin team?

Yeah, start sending June 1st- er, tomorrow. There really isn't a due date; SSSS will end sometime around the end of August (a couple of years ago I didn't finish my meteorology test until a few days before it finished...).
