Isn't this the same region that they had to split into two regions a few years ago because it got too big? I remember reading something about that in like 2013 or 2014.

Yeah, exactly. I actually helped run the tournament at my HS in 2014 the first year after the split...which is why I say the full region is probably bigger. It was pretttyyy packed back before then, fun!

Anyway, yeah now I guess it might be biggest?

To my eye, the results I have been seeing seem kind of typical. I also saw west Nassau was GNS A, Kellenberg A, Chaminade A, and Roslyn A I think (something like that). I think you have said GNS might be better than usual, but it is tough to tell looking at the results. Kellenberg did very close, but there's a few events that their B team did better, so who knows.

Lake Erie seems the usual at least for Williamsville East (I think I also remember St Joe's and Canisius sort of, but I can't remember everyone from that region sadly).

As for the NYC one, typically Townsend Harris or Stuy wins. IIRC in the past Stuy typically won, but I guess Townsend Harris has been edging them out (though, online the scores show it's by a fair bit this year). Typically one of them gets a top 10 spot at states too, though normally at the bottom of it as I recall. Also nice to notice is that Brooklyn Tech has been getting better, I don't believe they used to do as well or have a team or something until last year. The rest are sorta typical, at most I think Benjamin Cardozo or someone might have taken one of the spots some years ago, but I don't think it's my job to dig those things up anymore . Lastly, for size of the regional, I believe the full Nassau Div C regional will still reign supreme...it must be 80 or 90 combined by now >.>. The split was like 50/40 or something like that. It's half because multiple teams are allowed, but there's just a lot of teams there in general.

When I talk about the past, especially in that case, I mean more like 2+ years ago. Not just last year because well...I competed 2+ years ago. Though, could be wrong, if you want to go check it's always fun to see the progression of teams throughout the years.

Southern Tier Results (Div C) from NYSO:

1. Vestal High School
2. Maine-Endwell High School
3. Ithaca High School

I think someone from Ithaca used to be active on scioly.org... I don't remember who they are though. Also, didn't Maine-Endwell qualify for Nationals a few years ago? (although it might be a decade ago and I'm remembering wrong ).

Edit: Apparently it was 2006 that Maine-Endwell qualified...

Ah, way before I even knew SciOly existed. Townsend has really stepped up their game; I think they medalled in all but 4 events this year...and you get four drop events...

Seems like some regions are reluctant to post their scores. Does anyone know why? It is the same regions year after year. I think it is pretty odd since anyone who can be involved with SO can figure out how to post the full grid so what is the rationale for not putting the entire grid up? Thanks to those of you who do post!

A similar thing happens in Georgia, except it is more widespread. Besides the regional I have competed in, I can only find scoresheets for one other tournament (although sometimes I find partial scores like top 5 teams, etc. from other regionals).
