Re: Environmental Chem
The event is really more of a bio/environmental event than a chem event. But that doesnt bother me, since Im bad at chem.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

Re: Environmental Chem
it actually has a fair bit of chem in it. last year i did the event without finishing chemistry, and was kind of confused on certain sections.

Re: Environmental Chem
well i haev no idea how to study for this event but yet i'm in it :]
basically you just have to study over and over and over a ton of this in your field your working in, if you can take notes in cram as much as you can onto the page.
studying for events is like, studying for a test. does that help?

Re: Environmental Chem
i have like no old events from last year since they took them out,but this event seems like food science. What is water testing? where could i find resources for this event especially the lab part.

Re: Environmental Chem
my recomendation? when you get the rules and backround info, it will outline stuff you need to know. go to all of the links they provide and systematically research all of the things on the list. you need to know stuff like organic compounds, pollutants, basic ecology, etc.

I do not get the Env. Chem. Rules. Anybody willing to explain?

Re: Environmental Chem
Does anybody have good and free podcasts on the topics of soil and soil chemistry? Thanks
