A group of spheres (It's hard to explain its shape) parallel to the Endoplasmic Reticulum, used to bring large pieces of matter in and out of the cell.

Mad Cow Disease is a disease in cows caused by prions. Describe a prion, and how it spreads to other cells in the body.

Sorry if that's not in the rules, I didn't check. :(

A self-replicating protein; all known mammalian-based prions infect mainly the brain and the nervous system and spread to peripheral sites through them.
I know because I play too much Plague Inc. :D

I was looking for a more cell/molecule scale-based answer. Prions are disfigured proteins, and when these prions come into contact with undisfigured (normal) proteins, the normal proteins turn into prions, spreading the disease.

While Plague.inc is fun and all, it isn't very scientifically accurate :)

Your turn.

Maybe not, but being the nerd I am, it made me go and look up a bunch of the diseases mentioned anyway.

Not sure if this one's in the rules either, but...

To lyse or not to lyse, that is the question: (pick the one that does lyse)
a. high solute concentration cell in high solute concentration environment
b. high solute concentration cell in low solute concentration environment
c. low solute concentration cell in low solute concentration environment
d. low solute concentration cell in high solute concentration environment

Answer: B
Explanation: When a cell lyses, it takes in too much water and explodes. If environment has less solute concentration than cell, water will move into the cell to try to reduce the cell's solute concentration so that it balances with the environment.

Ah right, that makes sense.

Explain glycolysis.
