MICHAEL PHELPS OWNS!!! hahahahahaha. Go USA.
No, um Michael Phelps is on his rode to be the greatest Olympian of all time. He's already got 8 medals as of today, and only needs 2 more to beat the record. He just won the 4x100m relay . I'm a Phelps Phan...haha
I think you forgot to mention that Georgia (the country) and Russia are currently on the brink of war. Georgia is using the Olympics as an opening to attack a rebellious area with many Russian citizens. Russia has used this as an excuse to start bombing Georgia and now it is quickly escalating towards all out war.

The Modern Olympics were meant to be apolitical and to be a venue for pure athletic competition. All these boycotts and political protests are destroying the true purpose of Olympic competition.

That's what boxing's for, for countries to sort out their differences in a competitive yet healthy way. I've never heard of a Russian Boxer though. haha.

They are actually quite good. In the three appearances of Russia (post break up) they have accrued 17 boxing medals (http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/BIO/NOC/RUS.shtml)

Yes, Georgia is at the Olympics this year. They won bronze in women's 10m air rifle (http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/I ... 0000.shtml), an event which Russia took the silver.
