Re: Chem Lab C
That's awesome! I am too.
I have a question with equilibrium.
The formula for the equilibrium constant seems so arbitrary (concentrations raised to coefficients). Why does it work?
Do I need to learn physical chemistry to understand this.

Re: Chem Lab C
The law of mass action expression was empirically determined - there's no theory behind it, it just works

Re: Chem Lab C
Okay. I have been killing myself trying to search for an explanation.
I found a paper of the ACS website that tries to explain it, but you have to pay for it

The rules state
Could this mean that a team of two could use two pages of notes? Each student must bring safety equipment and a writing implement and may bring a non-programmable, non-graphing calculator, and one 8.5" by 11" two sided page of notes containing information in any form from any source.

Yup. Same change in forensics this year. If it's anything like that, you won't know what to do with the extra space...

Re: Chem Lab C
It's been like that for some time now. However, I'd have a rule sheet handy with your bag or something in case the supervisor didn't pick up on that!

Re: Chem Lab C
For Chem Lab, are we expected to study and have knowledge of Organic chemistry (the reactions and stuff)
