The studies are kinda hard but you just have to remember some of the characterristics of the studies.

Do you happen to have any things to tell about what the tests are like in Disease Detectives?
This is my first year in it and I'm a little nervous ^^;;

The best place that I have found for teaching/coaching Disease Detectives is the Montclair site. The site is: http://www.montclair.edu/detectives/index.html. This lays out an entire curriculum, easy to teach and easy to learn. It's meant to be taught in a classroom, but I have a very small group of students, so I have to get creative with some of the exercises. Good luck!

I competed in the Disease Detective event last year at one of our state's regional competitions and I have to say the test wasn't that scary. You need to know simple math equations such as percentages (is/of), averages and the such. There was also an awesome Bonus question where you had to match celebrities with the diseases they had. I would be sure to play some of the games on the official Science Olympiad site because they definitely give you an idea of what work as an epidemiologist is like, which is basically what you are doing on the test. =) Good luck!

I would think that's coincidence. When I did it (and it was only once) the stuff I studied was pretty much what the test was about. I think it has to do with what you study.
