Yes. Even I can play an alto saxophone, and I'm a percussionist. Couldn't play Elder's Tenor when I tried though. Clarinets are easy too.

i wish i learned a wind instrument. I did try oboe a few years ago during a particularly boring summer, but my mom wasnt thrilled with the horrendous squeaks, so that ended

of course, tenors actually have to try, altos don't and u can't here us anyway, so none of us really try that hard

Seriously? I don't have to try at ALL on tenor. But, it IS the main solo instrument in jazz, so you have a point there.

wait, wait. i play alto sax, and i try(i think) and i'm not lazy(i think). we are just as important, though i admit sometimes you can't really hear us.but in our band, 1/4 of the instruments are alto saxes, so we're the core of the group.

Ours ( I am in halfdesicaffeine's band as well) has 74 people ( well, had). It actually worked pretty well, I was shocked.
