Think that for the Tigers, it could be Auburn? They did win the BCS last year...so it might very well be that some people know them...

Auburn would probably make more sense than LSU, considering that Auburn isn't an abbreviation.

I have solved it! If you use the college/university/location of the college and put it in order, you get this:

New York (where Cornell is located)

If you take the first letter of each word(s), you spell the "paleonaps".
