I think it could be the Red-throated juvenile though.
Nope. The bill is too thick, and the red-throat doesn't have the collar around the neck. It's a common loon.

Are you trying to say it is not a common loon in nonbreeding plumage?

Oh. I thought you were rejecting the whole ID, not just the "juvenile" part. Does that mean I'm next?

I don't think the image tag is working, so here's the URL: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Ut ... iW-0VIqhSA

Yeah... let's link to the actual image next time, not the description page with the answer.

Assuming that's correct, Flavorflav can post a different one because that wasn't quite fair.

Oops. Well, that is embarrassing. I didn't notice.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to link to just the image. When I used the Img tag, it didn't work. To I have to upload to a filesharing site or something, or is there an easier way?

Right click on the image and press "open in new window" or something similar, then use that url. Or you can press "copy image url" and paste it in here.

The image seems to work, but apparently Palaeonaps worked intermittently too, so in case it goes dead: http://www.wunderground.com/data/wximag ... od/397.jpg
