Look at the old Wright Stuff Threads for suggestions on props. Hint, search on Ikara.

Props designed for rubber power don't seem to do as well as those designed for electric motors. I have some RC airplane props, but I am running into the same hub problem as Primate. I have seen some little plastic multi-blade props that fit right on standard 2.5 or 3 mm shafts, but I don't know where to get them.

question: the variable for the event is the mass of the cart that you must pull right? so therefore the length of the track must be fixed? and what is that length? I feel dumb for asking this but I really read the page over like 3 times and could not find it.... =P

4. THE TRACK:
a. The track must be a standard maglev track as used in technology classes with a length of 2.4 m and a vehicle track
dimension of 2 9/16 inches (~6.5 cm).
5. THE COMPETITION:
iv. Competitors must place their vehicle and the sled on the track behind a line 30.5cm from beginning of the track. They must place a pencil on the line in front of their vehicle to keep it from moving.
Since the track itself is 240 cm and the starting line is at 30.5 cm, the length of track the vehicle must travel is 240 - 30.5 or 209.5 cm

5. THE COMPETITION:
viii. The judge must stop the clock when the front of the vehicle crosses the end of the track. If a photogate is used the pencil must be placed behind the line to avoid triggering the photogate in advance.

Note that if you accidentally trigger the photogate early, that will only hurt your score.

Breaking news: Loctite contact adhesives work incredibly well for attaching props to shafts that are too small.
I just hope to god these tiny little plastic props accomplish something.

The C division rules specifically mention a test, and a binder for test information, and the fact that the test is 100 points on your score, but no info on what's on the test! Does anyone have a clue as to what might be on there? The rules were really vague...
