BOOM.

Letters down the side spell Bash. Put it through an atbash, and it becomes
Could it be possible
Could it be true
In Soviet Russia
red herring follow you!

QILLX GLVLX OGDSR RONOB NLVFV NGFSH RGHWV AMDWQ KI
EDIT: red herring could refer to #49, but I don't think so. Or it could mean that a certain part of the riddle was a red herring.
EDIT2: Another idea could be that you don't need to do the atbash cipher, but rather the key is bash, and that poem about the red herring tells you that. Maybe.

You beat me to it :(

My guess is that its a red herring, that was WAY too easy. My question lies in the advice. What do nag a rams have to do with anything? (i assume the assassinator is referring to anagrams?) I cant find anything that might refer to an anagram.

EDIT: Maybe it could be the last line of text?
EDIT2: The only thing i could find in the ciphered text was ROBO in RONOB. :|

The big problem here is that we have to assume that the assassinator used someone's name. Almost (read: all) anagram machines use a dictionary, so with the exception of a few people (paradox, zyzzyva) it won't find the solution.

Ok, so if the assassinator did that, then its possible the clue is unsolvable? *prepares picket line*

Well, not necessarily. We just need to find one that doesn't check its work against a dictionary. Or one that recognizes proper nouns.

You are both out in left field.
My victims name is in the last line.
However, the last line is not an anagram.

This is the only hint you will get from me on this clue.

Ok, so then what's the anagram thing for? There are 1438 anagrams for the first line of the decoded poem alone. There is NO WAY that I can pick the one anagram I need from that list.

Unless, of course, that's not where the anagram is...

I think I got something. I am looking at the clue on my itouch right now, and I went to zoom into the clue. Someone quote the sassy, cause I just found a REALLY small 1 & 2.

OK, so two numbers are in here, and they have been shrunk to size 21. Does that number ring any bells?
