Yeah, that DQ. So basically I got lost on campus and came in as that supervisor was giving her instructions. So I had to talk to her assistant and he checked my kit for goggles, apron, etc....so I didn't hear everything she said, including "not removing your goggles unless you're in the hallway". When she was about to start the demonstration, I came over and started to defog my goggles. She DQed me on the spot. Luckily, my coach and I won the appeal...was removing my goggles onto my forehead in the aisle unsafe, we asked her? And I can't believe the people ruled in our favor :D.

Hey, the lady was mean. There was no reason for her to lash out at you and the coach the way she did. :[
But YES. It was a miracle that the appeal actually worked, especially since it was three hours later than the one-hour window that we're supposed to have. And at Nationals, no less. Monumental. xD
Actually, we still would have gotten in 3rd place overall even if you had been DQ'd. :P
It's great that you managed to stay calm afterwards, though. When I saw you at Elevated Bridge, you were even smiling at us. :D

That sounds like a plan.
wow really? i cant imagine being in science olympiad and not being obsessed right away. although it does have its ups and downs, science olympiad is still the best. i guess i'll just start prepping for next year's events :)
Haha when I first started in 7th grade, I ended up doing 1 event: Fossils. I was good at it though and I managed 3rd at regionals (our A team got 1st). I didnt make it on the A team that year, but by next year, I was doing 4 events and I medalled in all of them at regionals. By 9th grade I was a captain. Funny how obsession just creeps up on ya =)

I can't believe it's over for a whole year... But now that I'm super motivated for next year, it won't be too long before I start up the obsession again

Didn't go to nats...which was very upsetting, since we were really close...

Now I keep bugging my coach about getting the list, and she's getting annoyed.
Although she's going to Pheonix, so we get the rules early :D

OMG THAT LADY WAS A MAJOR BUTTERFLY! Me and my partner were almost shocked when she said that you were DQ'd. After I left CJAP and went to Eco, I was still thinking about that incident.
I'm pleased to hear that your appeal worked out well! Congratulations on being one of the best people in Powders in the nation! :D :D :D
