I almost forgot the time my freshman year in Washington DC for the invitational in January at GWU that we were in a hotel room trying to put finishing touches on the glockenspiel for The Sound of Music. We were using a drill with sandpaper as a saw, which led to many sparks being shot off. One team member got burns up his arm, and we nearly set off the smoke alarm in the hotel. Luckily, all worked out well.

Definitely. I've gotten hit several times, not by the tennis ball, but by the pointy end of the screwdriver we use as a trigger. And then my partner almost lit it on fire (it was smoking and we could smell the wood burning) while trying to drill through the wood.

Sometimes, just being at the competition with my team can hurt. We've had several people get hit with tennis balls while playing Wall Ball, and I got smacked with a tree branch.

I doubt you almost set it on fire. Quite often drill bits will char the wood and create smoke but I don't see any way you'd get a flame out of it.

I'm sensing a new event in the making, a bit of a spinoff on Mystery Architecture:

Mystery Destruction. You're given a few materials and must wreak the most havoc or create the most destruction. Extra points for flames. : P

Oh, man. I know the perfect guy for that event. Actually, I think all of us know somebody (if it isn't ourselves) that would be perfect for that.

Bit of a hyperbole there. It sounds so much more dramatic when I say, "we almost set the catapult on fire" than "we charred part of the catapult".

my hurt experiences are getting hit in the face with the arm of a trebuchet, mouse trap on finger, and my friend cut his hand open with an knife while working on mission possible that required stitches.

Ah Wall Ball how I remember that at invites where two guys on my team got hit in between the legs and I almost took someones head off after they touched the wall.

Ah now for some actual injuries. The first is my friend attempting to solder my hand working on mission. On the topic of Mission Possible some team members my sixth grade year took a pipe for Sounds of Music and destroyed the Mission with that pipe. Many people got hit by debre. We had someone on our team that caused the team to ban her from using scissors cause she would always cut her fingers, we always had bandades in our toolboxes. Doing Bottle Rocket a member on the team was standing above the rocket as it had fired unintentionally and he wound up with a cut on his forhead that caused him to look like Harry Potter. One year using leftover bottles for Bottle Rockets our team made liquid nitrogen bombs and some plastic hit me on the neck. We have had the Egg-O-Naut launch sideways once. The funniest event no one actually got injured but we launced a bottle in the science lab and left a nice hole in the celing.
