yeah, and he swims like 5 miles a day.gneissisnice wrote:During the winter olympics, I tried to watch some of the sports, but everytime i turned it on, the only sport shown was curling, which is probably the most boring sport ever invented. Also, did you know that Michael Phelps eats a 12000 calorie diet?

No hockey? That's why I love the winter olympics.gneissisnice wrote:During the winter olympics, I tried to watch some of the sports, but everytime i turned it on, the only sport shown was curling, which is probably the most boring sport ever invented. And living near Canada I can watch a fair amount of curling...not that I want to though.

We tried to watch more interesting stuff, but the only thing on was curling, curling, curling. It was like a bad dream.

Re: OLYMPICS!
Honestly, I don't think curling is that bad. It's really interesting to watch if you know how it works. Hockey, of course, is the best. Who agrees that the winter olympics are way more interesting than the summer olympics?

Re: OLYMPICS!
they are, but i do like watching swimming and diving, and some of the other summer events, but i like to watch the winter olympics more, and last time they did better coverage of the winter olympics than they have this year of the summer olympics

Re: OLYMPICS!
Curling can be interesting a few minutes just because of the whole sciency-aspect of it, but there's really little action and I can't watch it for more than a few minutes.
This is by far the best Olympic coverage I've seen yet though. Ton of time on NBC...and a lot of other HD coverage as well. It's been on NBC almost nonstop, as well as some time on USA and CNBC, a fair amount of time on Universal HD, plus I get two dedicated Olympic channels as well. There's a ton of stuff to choose from. I wasn't all that impressed with the Torino coverage...and if I recall correctly, NBC lost a lot of money on it too.

Re: OLYMPICS!
There's no way any one channel, even any 5 channels, could carry all the sports. There's too many things going on at once.
I get a good selection though. I get:
NBC - Mornings and Prime Time Olympic Coverage
CBC - Daytime and Prime Time, about 1/3 the time it's the same as NBC
CNBC - Carries some events
USA - Carries some events
Olympic Soccer - Dedicated soccer channel (that I'll never watch)
Olympic Basketball - Dedicated basketball channel
Universal HD - Shows quite a few events
