You tie and glue down the fishing line to the extended arm so that the fishing line is above the back axle when you pull the mousetrap back. Then all you do is wind the string around the axle, and make sure to prevent it from being loose or your car won't go as far. Hope this helped!

Rule 5.i.
Teams must start the Vehicle using any part of an unsharpened #2 pencil with an unused eraser, supplied
by the Event Supervisor, in a motion approximately perpendicular to the floor, to actuate a trigger. They
may not touch the Vehicle to start it, hold it while actuating the trigger, or “push” the Vehicle to get it
started. Once they start a run, the participants must not follow their Vehicle and wait until called by the
Event Supervisor to retrieve their Vehicle.

When I set up the mousetrap, the string unravels before I can set it off. How do I fix this?

okay this question proably sounds dumb but we baisically we only have to make the vehicle go because of the moustrap until a certain point and thats it right? cause i had this previous understanding that the vehicle had to come back after reaching the "destination" but after further looking into the rules, i litteraly cant find it anywhere so does the vehicle actually have to come back or not? thank you so much!!

It does not. That was last year's Division C specs.
