Aren't themes half the reason to use Firefox in the first place?
With the Stylish add-on you can customize websites almost any way you want too. This is my default Google:

i am pretty sure it depends on the browser
here are the results
Chrome=Bigger box, bold suggestions
IE= same size box as Chrome also bold sugestions
Opera=same as chrome bold suggestions
FF3.4.5= older box [(smaller) not sure how accute that is] bold suggestions
thats what i am seeing

Went back to big and bold. With IE8.
