You study different diseases and conduct mini-studies to get practice in determining a source of a disease and then finding out ways to stop it. I'm not sure if that was a very good explanation :? , but you can always check the Disease Detective Wiki for help.

Seriously, check the wiki (Disease Detectives Wiki). There's a lot of helpful info on that page, and if you can't find what you're looking for, you can always google it.

EASTStroudsberg13 already did. Do some research and come back with specific questions and lots of people will be happy to help, but you cannot expect someone to try to explain the whole event to you - and without some research, you probably wouldn't understand them if they did.

I really never thought I would post this link on this site, but with that second post I feel that the need has come and I have to stoop to the level of a scioly fad. So if you still need help with this event, click here:http://lmgtfy.com/?q=disease+detectives

It seems to me that the test focused way to much on memorization than application. I memorized the packet from the SOINC site and got 2nd in states (PA).

Two years ago, there was a good amount of application, so it might not be the same this year. A lot of the tiebreakers were memorization, like the 10 steps and different types of diseases, but other than that the main content had a lot of application questions. So that process might not work as well this year depending on what the test is like.
