Trust me. From hovercraft, this can lead to critical failure if you use hot glue.

Depends on how sealed the motor housing is, but i suppose it is possible. First of all, you should never be using hot glue to secure your motor. I would even be cautious with 3D printed parts or plastic as a housing because it could deform slightly and mess up the alignment. Most people use a metal piece to hold their motor in place.

Would it be recommended to make the car faster or more resistance to force? In other words, should I have a gear train where the drive gear is smaller or larger than the driven gear?

Just to be clear, I glued the cut up ruler that was my brake setting scale, not the motor . I used a Pololu 25D mounting bracket for my motor.

The car will travel in some sort of arc if the two axles aren't perfectly parallel. A small change in the relative position of the axle will produce a big change in the path the vehicle takes. By physically attaching a caliper to the axle, you could actually measure these very small changes that wouldn't be reproducible with another adjustment system.

With that being said - it's certainly not the only way to adjust steering on a battery buggy. There are other ways that are probably less precise ultimately, but much easier to implement.

1) if the turning mechanism are gears or mechanical, yes. If they're electrical, no.
