Most people don't care at our school, except the SO team/SO coaches... every one thinks were "losers" or "nerds" or whatever.... which is too bad for them, 'cuz after they insult science oly. I refuse to help them with their hw/class work

after we do really well, like going to nationals, or doing amaizing at Solon invite. or regionals, our science teacher might give all the science classes extra-credit or bonus points... then they (as in the not-so-smart people-that-aren't-in-SO) thank us, and continue thinking we're "nerds" + "losers". :x

I wish I could go to an all-nerdy school where nerdyness whould be coolness!!!! (cuz it is!!! :D ) ;) ,

We have nerds in our school but they think SO is a joke. Well, not really like a joke.
They might like science a bit, but they don't really get how hard it is or how much work there really is.
Plus it's all parents. What's the point of SO, if you're not really into it?

We're actually fairly well respected, since Science Olympiad is the only thing decent at our school. Kids, especially those with a sci oly coach for a teacher, will stop us and congratulate us after a competition. But most kids are still unaware of what it is, and don't think anything about sci oly at all.

Well, my school doesn't have a single teacher that wants to coach our team. As a result, we have practices down at a junior high, and our coach is a science teacher down there. It's rather sad, because Science Olympiad is probably the most successful club or sport at my school. Maybe one day, they will recognize our achievements. I keep hoping!

My school's SciOly's team's pretty respected, not to mention we also have an awesome coach. We have about 200 students asking to join for next year, and the team only has room for a few. Most of the people on my team have a social life, with a few exceptions, and quite a few are sporty nerds. A lot of the attention we get though comes from my partner and me staying after school to test trajectory in the hallways.

My school doesn't care for athletics, waste of money. All though our firewood splitting/lawn mowing team is pretty good. :P

My whole school (All fourteen) goes to watch pretty much every SO tournament, except nationals. (too expensive)

I do wish though, that some TV channel would cover the national tournament with an hour long show, that would be awesome!

We don't get extra credit. However, sometimes teachers who know about it will congratulate us. However, a local community newspaper just did an article about the team I coached, so that was pretty cool.
