idk if this is right but here goes
1) when your independent variable has values, (such as 2 marbles, 4 marbles, 6 marbles) the control would be zero (so, 0 marbles)
2) when your independent variable has levels, (such as paper towel, printer paper, plastic bag) the control would be the medium value (so,
 the printer paper because it is medium thickness)

Okay so I'm not exactly sure if these are good questions but here goes
1. What are 3 examples of qualitative observations?
2. What would be the independent and dependent variables and hypothesis in this experiment? (topic: parachutes... yes I am aware this experiment already exists)
- plastic bag
- newspaper
- printer paper
- paper towel
- one small plastic cup
- string
- 10 marbles

- We noticed that the ice cube didn't melt parallel to the heat plate
- We noticed that the ice cube's temperature never exceeded 0 degrees Celsius
- We noticed that the heat plate didn't return to its temperature it was before we started the experiment
2. How does [b]the material of a parachute[/b] affect [b]the time it takes to fall to the ground from a fixed height[/b]?
