Nothing is a guarantee. 4 or 5 states could suddenly decide not to send a team to Nationals, or a similar number of large states could lose a few hundred teams. However, it's basically certain that Indiana won't get a second bid in either division this year.

Regarding the number of states, it's not necessarily top 12 - it depends on the number of active state organizations. It's expected to be top 10 or top 9 this year. I think Indiana is currently somewhere between 12th and 14th in each division.

I was saying it was not a guarentee that Thomas Jefferson will represent Indiana in the B division.

Ah ok, that makes more sense in context.

It is pretty much a guarentee that TJ represents Indiana, but it's close in Division C between Munster and Carmel.
Idk for Div C I think you shouldn't count Lake Central or either of the Bloomingtons out. All five (Munster, Carmel, Lake Central, Bloomington North, Bloomington South) are very strong teams, and honestly, at this rate, the exact order that the top five comes out to at State could vary wildly between them. I wouldn't say it's a guarantee for anyone.

For Div B, it might be a bit of the dilemma with the dominant state champion problem, because since TJ has kept a pretty decent streak on state championships, it might be possible that there are some Div B teams that have given up on trying to beat them on thinking that they'll never beat them, but it is quite possible that maybe the top 5 might be a hard fight. Wilbur Wright has shown some pretty decent results recently, but I've noticed that they have tended to underperform at State recently. So no one knows.

Unrelated note, I'm kinda curious to see how whoever makes it out of Indiana decides to travel to nationals this year. I remember peoneill said Munster and Wilbur Wright shared a bus all the way from near Chicago to Orlando for 2014 Nationals and back, I wonder if whoever makes it will still take a bus to Colorado too, lol (btw - I do kinda feel sorry for peoneill on that...a very very long bus ride packed with middle and high school kids does sound pretty hard to deal with  ).

Does anyone have the score sheet for Ivy Tech Bloomington? I have access only to what is posted on Twitter.

Also, good luck to everyone competing in regionals this weekend!

I think Indiana needs to have more centralized invitationals.

Definitely true, especially taking last year as an example when everybody thought state would be between Munster and Carmel. It was not. (oops)

I do hope whoever ends up going decides to fly. It seems like a 16 hour bus trip that would be cheaper and more convenient by air.
