An example: My team (Treasure Valley Homeschool) contended against a team that regularly won Idaho state (St. Joseph's). After many successful years, they ended up in third place, 33 points behind us.
Better example: MONTGOMERY BEATING NORTH FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A DECADE
Yeah Montgomery. I am more interested in B though because a.) I am in B and b.) North and South at least compete with each other. Community is just community
False. Community is North's feeder; Thomas Roy Grover Middle School feeds South.

Just watch out. Hillsborough Middle School is going to be top 6 this year.

Quite possible, but I can't see any team other than Community holding B champions this year.

Speaking of champions, does anyone have a super-mega-ultra-early predictions list for both division B and C? I'd like to get a general feel about what teams are projected to win. Last year's States turned out to be quite the mess, and nobody really expected the results, I guess...

My top six teams list for C is just one big question mark for the first three places, with the WW-Ps and Montgomery undecided due to lack of information. I'd say the remaining three will be decided between Brunswicks, JPS, and maybe PHS?

They are relatively new and maybe not this year but soon I am expecting things from the Princeton International school of math and science

How many hours per week (per event) do you guys put and how many do you think you need to be successful.

ATM, I am just going through my events and learning them one by one, ranging anywhere from 5-10 hours a week.

5-10 hours a week is a lot of dedication!

Ideally that would be what you want to do, except I'm more a cram kind of person. But since that doesn't usually get me too far, I agree that studying even 3-5 hours every week is probably sufficient up to States. Unless you live in a really competitive one...

smh I did more in 9th grade

My current rate is about 30 hours a week, but a significant chunk of that is captaining work.

Regardless, 5-10 hours a week is a pretty good rate.

I minimize the time I spend on everything else so I have much more time for SO.

Does anyone know if thermodynamics and hovercraft will be at regionals? ( Union County ?)
What did the thermometer say to the graduated cylinder?
"You may have graduated, but I have many degrees"
