I agree with that, but I still don't see why they count. But oh well, what am I going to do to change it?

Yes they do. THey count just as much as any otehr event
Hmm, our regional did not count them and never does.. probably just another glitch in the horrible running of our regional, but yes they most definitely do count for states, always.

Well, I think the different Regionals can choose whether to count them or not. I think most do, though, because they know they count at States, so it's a sort of practice for the teams.

our two state trial events were: Rock My World, and Forestry Quest.
Rock my world: I didn't get into the details of this event, but I did read over the rules, an event about deep-coastal ocean oil drilling.
Forestry Quest: parts of different trees were given, or pics, and were asked questions/to ID.

what are some of the other trial events events that you had??

ours gave out medals but they dont count. We also ran Pentathalon as a trial. I htik things are called "trials" because they can still drastically change the rules and have an excuse to see if an event works. Also at the regional leval Alternates are allowed to compete in trials

bioblitz, rock my world, and forestry were the only trials that we had.

i think that for some states, trials count cuz if they dont, the alternates will feel really left out or unimportant...i dont get why in some states trials dont count...

There's this Trial event at State, and its called Thinking Globally, Acting Locally. And we're still stuck on a couple things. so I was wondering if anyone else had figured it out yet.

you can make a new topic on the study event section (assuming thats a study event) on that event. i think the rules for all trials can be found somewhere on soinc.org though, if thats what you need...
