like knowing the phyllums the SUPER basic but it you want extra brownie points you can go down to the genus ;)

Yes, that's important. However, at an invitational this year, that was less than 1/2 of the questions. There were stations where you identify and also answer questions about the organism (lifestyle, time period, etc). Also there was a written test which was mostly about the geologic time periods , so make sure to study that too!

I was asked by this girl to help her in Fossils (she was drafted the week before) at Invitationals. She asked me if I had a free-time block, and I replied yes, even though I had never ever done the event and didn't even know the rules. So, we competed together. All we had were some information on Geologic Time Periods and the list. So, we used randomly picked names from the list and got 8/29 correct (11th/15th). Hey, at least I got "What is a Fossil?" correct! :) :D :lol: By the way, it was stations. Plus, people tried to cheat off us. LOL, they would've gotten the wrong answers anyway.

all u have 2 know about rocks is the 3 types of sedimentary cuz thats what they are buried in except 1 metamorphic rock(slate)
