Uh...I'm not Alpha.butter side up wrote: On a side note... the list Alpha posted for the PA tree list is the same one as the national list. Is that a mistake, or do we just have to learn the entire national tree list?
But JSGandora is right; the highlighted tress are the ones on the state list. If you're on a mobile device the highlighting might not show up; it didn't when I accessed the list on my iPod.

Ohmigoodness! I'm sorry kestral... I guess I shouldn't try and multitask.
And I had just printed the list out on my black and white printer without paying much attention to the screen. That makes me feel much better.
Does anyone have reccomendations about preserving leaves? We started practice just in time for the leaves to start falling and dieing, so we really don't have second chances. What has been working well for everyone?

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the Southern Red Oak and the Pin Oak?

Re: Forestry B/C
Hmm, do you think that the typical number of leaf lobes is a distinctive-enough feature to distinguish the two? Most of the pictures in my guides, as well as from a quick internet search, show Southern Red Oak as having fewer lobes.amerikestrel wrote:Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the Southern Red Oak and the Pin Oak?

Re: Forestry B/C
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Southern Red oak's lobes and leaves are more rounded, while Pin Oak is characterized by jagged, more sharp leaves.
What disease did cured ham actually have?
If 4 out of 5 people SUFFER from diarrhea...Does that mean the fifth one enjoys it?
I used to be healthy, until I took an arrow to the knee and got gangrene.
