From Wikipedia: "The success of diffuse knapweed must be attributed to a combination of several mechanisms. Its invasiveness is due to a mix of allelopathy, ERH and superior resource competition.[citation needed] However, the most importance must be attributed to the ERH because diffuse knapweed, while a very effective invasive species in its novel environment, is non-invasive and doesn’t establish monocultures in its native range. "4

What is ERH? It never formally identifies the acronym

I am running into ALOT of controversial sources regarding sizes and pathways of introduction. What are you guys doing? Do you trust the more trustworthy source or do you write both? Or maybe merge them into one? (ie. source1 says leaf is 2-4cm, source2 says leaf is 1-3cm, you declare leaf is 1-4cm)

For sizes I'm going with the one that comes from a better source while for modes of introduction, I'm putting all of them because for introduction there are usually multiple ways the species was introduced. Sometimes if there are too many, I'll just pick the one that is the most sensible one.

Alright thanks. I feel like at lower levels at competition (poorly run regionals/states), ES will use poorer sources (such as Wikipedia) instead of delving deeper so I'm worried about those cases.

I had been under the impression that the way to tell apart zebra and quagga mussels was that zebra mussels' stripes were jagged while the quaggas' are smooth, but recently, I have learned zebra's stripes can be either striped or jagged. Can anyone confirm and tell me how to identify?

Why did the rules committee decide to use Rock Snot instead of the more appropriate and sophisticated Didymo for Didymosphenia geminate?

For Pennsylvania the state website says that for regionals only species in the bold typeface on the state list can be used, but I can't see which are bold and which aren't. Can anybody help?
