Hey, this is kind of a dumb question, but what do you guys use to mark your salinometers? Everything I've tried just rubs off.

We just used sharpie, and never had that issue. Just gently dry off the water with a paper towel after you are done using it.Xanthien wrote:Hey, this is kind of a dumb question, but what do you guys use to mark your salinometers? Everything I've tried just rubs off.

I guess I need new sharpies then, mine have been horribly inconsistent about whether or not they feel like marking the straw. Thanks anyway!

^ This. You have to make sure that the straw has no water on it at all when you're marking it. They're horribly picky about that kind of thing.tornado guy wrote:We just used sharpie, and never had that issue. Re: Water Quality B/C
My partner and I were wondering if we will be provided with Water Quality Index graphs on the state test to use as a standard of comparison for questions. Thanks!

Re: Water Quality B/C
I'm not sure. I saw the graphs on a practice test, but that might have been a practice activity and I don't remember. >.> I didn't get many direct questions that required the graphs. However, it's always good to know the general trends in each section of WQI. If that makes sense.SOizlyfe wrote:My partner and I were wondering if we will be provided with Water Quality Index graphs on the state test to use as a standard of comparison for questions. Thanks!

Typically, the graphs are provided along with the test, but I would put those on your cheat sheet just in case a test writer wants to be evil

Re: Water Quality B/C
Question. Is it just a coincidence, or do all Water Quality Part B tests ask you for Water Quality Index?

Re: Water Quality B/C
Well, it's a key part of it, but on my test, it was only mentioned a couple of times. There was a data table showing the quality of a few bodies of water, and the test-taker had to compare them and answer questions.Epicness101 wrote:Question. Re: Water Quality B/C
My state test had a lot on estuaries, and even had us identifying invasive estuarine species like crabs and fish. I don't think this was supposed to be on there, but we just took our best guesses, and that's what everyone else probably did, too.
