you're not allowed to touch your device.
That is a big fat lie.
Now I point you into the right direction to section 5gii line 3
Teams may make adjustments to their device between shot but not to its original location.
This allows for this trigger mechanism in which you speak of.
I can't believe no one has figured out how I do my bouncer yet.

How far does it shoot a tennis ball?
And are you allowed to pull a string when the ball hits, or does the trigger have to activated by the force from the ball?
Please answer

I need Help

I'm sorry, I guess I haven't read the rules thoroughly. Wait a minute- what if your device had a giant platform of paper? you could move the bouncer wherever so long as it is still on the paper, because technically the original location of the whole device would stay... right? there has to be a flaw in this. It would be too cheap.

We are getting a consistent 6 meters with our catapult (with a golf ball) and 8-10 meters (with a wiffle ball). Does anyone know how that compares to other teams

I think you should try to get about 8 with the tennis ball.

I don't think that we can make a catapult in the 12 days we have, because at our school has spring break right now, and we only have 3 work days until PA states.

Then meet during spring break, or after school.

We are improving, but you have to realize that all of us have about 5 other events, and we cannot concentrate completely on Junkyard. Anyway, I am going away for spring break.
By the way, does anyone know if a ballista is legal

We are lauching about 5-6 meters with our catapult with a golf ball and 8-10 meters with a practice golf ball.
Our bouncer is going about 1-3 meters with a golf ball.
